Right before we opened! Will it ever look this shiny again? :)

We have opened our latest addition to the LittleMissMatched family…our store at Burlington Mall in Massachusetts!  And since LMM isn’t your ordinary retailer, we of course had to make our opening a bit…”out of the socks”!

Armed with bubbles, Mardi Gras beads and temporary tattoos, we greeted all of our new friends at the door for our Grand Opening weekend.  Several days prior we had begun inviting people to participate in a Design-A-Sock contest…and the Grand Opening weekend meant it was voting time!   The winning designer would receive an LMM goodie bag…and our only requirement was creativity.  Our design contestants had encouraged friends and family to come into the store to vote for their favorites on Grand Opening weekend, so we got to meet lots of fresh faces and supporters!       

Meanwhile throughout the day, with our Flipcam in hand, we filmed for our newest company-made film, “What Makes You…YOU?”  This “sockumentary” will be a feel-good film showcasing answers to this simple question and it will debut Friday, October 21st, National “Rock Your Socks” Day!  Kids of all ages (1-101!) were invited to share 15 seconds of their creative selves, and oh the fun answers we captured!

As the weekend came to a close, we celebrated its success, the friends we made and we are excited to see all that is in “store” for us!

As for the winner of our Sock Design contest…8 year old Destiny, inspired by the Boston Bruin’s recent Stanley Cup win, created the winning design and took home the cake…that is, the coveted LittleMissMatched goodie bag!!

Mis-matchin' Men!

Downtown Disney - June 29.  Checking out our store for the first time, five guys wandered into our LittleMissMatched store in Downtown Disney.  Our gals noticed them right away (see the cute one all the way to left!).  It was the beginning of the boys’ third annual trip to Disney.   Unsure if there was anything for them, they began to leave…when Heather (love her!) struck up some fun conversation.  Finding out one of them was a comic illustrator, another a student interested in advertising, we convinced them that their creative selves had to be rockin’ our socks! Hillary and Ashley jumped over to join in the fun.  The result: Everyone had a blast picking out knee highs!  The boys were there all in good fun… saying things like “this pattern totalllllly works with your skin tone!” 

It has been confirmed that the boys kicked around Downtown Disney the rest of the night proudly sock rockin it, dawning Disney tattoos to boot!

We luv our customers, for all different reasons…we make the party happen with each of them in a way that is as unique as they are.
